Theo van Doesburg (August 30, 1883 – March 7, 1931)

I must admit that I'm a bit confused as to whether Doesburg or Mondrian began the De Stijl movement (I believe it was Mondrian, but my belief, as of late, is shaken). As for Doesburg, he was an instrumental part of the De Stijl movement and an expert in the style. Still, he was not as well-regarded in other forms of art–unlike, for instance,  Mondrian who was a wonderful Expressionist, Fauvist and Cubist–and so faded somewhat from the general recollection of the art world.
